The sketchbook consists of seven leaves with two cardboard covers with three holes punched in the top for loose leaf binding. The sketches are written in pencil on the 1st two leaves and in ink on the 3rd leaf; the other leaves are blank. Some notes are written over in ink on the 1st leaf. It is written on 'G. Schirmer Style no. 19 - 20 staves' paper cut to the size of the notebook.
