Mfl. 2751 : Tone row chart written in black ink on one leaf of 'J.E. & Co. No. 9, 28 linig' paper, measuring 34.4 x 26.5 cm. An alternate order for the final six pitches is given for each row. Each row is labelled; 'T' and 'T5' (the primary row and its transposition at the fifth) are underlined. 'U5' (the inversion of the primary row at the fifth) is written primarily in red ink. '3/8' is stamped in the right hand margin. The verso is blank.

The upper right hand corner is stamped '49'. Four additional staves have been hand drawn in the lower margin. The verso contains a sketch of meas. 768-780 in black ink. The last system contains sketches that were never used. There is also a partial sketch of the passage in pencil. The upper left hand corner is stamped '50'.

Mfl. 2746 : Written in pencil on one leaf of paper trimmed to 16 staves, measuring 25.5 x 33.7 cm.; contains a sketch of the first eight measures and a draft of the setting at the beginning of the opera. The leaf is dated '21.X.1928' in the upper right hand corner; it is stamped '20' in the lower right hand corner. The sketch is crossed out in green pencil. A tone row chart for this work, written in black ink on one leaf of 'K.U.V. Beethoven Papier Nr. 37. (24 Linien)' paper, measuring 33.8 x 26.5 cm., is affixed to the verso of the first preliminary leaf. In addition to the primary row and its inversions, the chart contains alternate order of pitches for the second half of the row.
The pages of the score are numbered, 1-72, by ink stamp; the measures are also numbered throughout by ink stamp. Pages [73-74] are blank. Page 1 is dated '25/X. 1928'. The end of the piece (p. 72) is dated '1. Janner [sic] 1929, Arnold Schönberg, 3h 15 (15h 15)'.

Written in black ink on one original chart and two carbon copies. The instrumental parts are typewritten. The first leaf is the original. The three leaves cover up to measure 278 (page 54). Holes have been made in the right hand margins. The verso of the third leaf has a small leaf affixed to the right hand margin, on which is written 'Andant Andante/Frau V'
Accompanying material: One further carbon copy of the first leaf above, and one original and three carbon copies of another instrumentation chart, in a slightly different format ('Seite' appears above 'Takt' in the left hand margin), all unfilled in. In a folded pink blotter paper holder, which has holes corresponding to those in the orchestration charts.
