Sources
Ozalid copy of the condensed score
Arnold Schönberg Center, Wien (Nachlaß Arnold Schönberg,
MS 50)
(Source Ba, in: Arnold Schönberg: Sämtliche Werke, Abteilung V: Chorwerke.
Reihe B, Band 19. Chorwerke II, Kritischer Bericht, Skizzen, Fragment,
hrsg. v. Christian Martin Schmidt, Mainz-Wien 1977, p. 60-81).
Blueprint copy of holograph fair copy held by the Library of Congress.
A typewritten copy of the text is affixed to the verso of the t.p. Each
leaf is joined by gummed tape and the score is folded accordion style.
Where the copy is poor, Schoenberg has recopied it. Page 13 is numbered
'12a'. Corrections to the score and the text appear in pencil, black ink,
red pencil, green ink and blue pencil on p. 1-10, 12, 14-20. A piece of
transparent paper is stapled to the bottom of p. 1 which clarifies the
copy below it. Bar 94 on p. 19 is corrected in the men's chorus part by
a separate piece of paper. Some of the corrections are signed. Originally
stored in handmade cardboard and paper folder with a title in blue pencil
written over by slightly different title in black ink: 'Survivor of Warsaw'.
