Internship at the Archive

The archive of the Arnold Schönberg Center offers the opportunity of a three-month to one-year-long internship, open to students and graduates of musicology programs, as well as to students and graduates of certificate programs in music library sciences (languages: German or English).

Emphases (comprehensiveness and each area’s relative degree of importance depend on the length of the internship, as well as on the personal focus of the intern):

– Cataloging
– Preservation
– Digitization
– Web design
– Museum pedagogy
– Exhibition design
– Editing of academic contributions
– Composition and editing of program notes

Prerequisites:
– University studies in musicology (should be at least halfway through degree program, graduates preferred), or a related subject area (e.g., music library sciences certificate or graduate course of studies)
– Interest in the life and work of Arnold Schönberg, and in the Second Viennese School
– Understanding of archival and museum-related projects
– Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, as well as of HTML applications.
