Gilbert, Pia, 1921-

Pia Gilbert--composer, and faculty member of the Juilliard School. She
was professor of Music for Dance, and Resident Composer at the University
of California at Los Angeles (1947-1985). She was music director for the
UCLA Dance Company. She has written books and articles on the subject
of dance. A friend of the Schoenberg family, she was a founding member
of the Friends of the Arnold Schoenberg Institute.
